The dark are in need of light, meet greed with generosity, hate with love, indifference with understanding, meet the angry with compassion and happiness, meet ignorance with an open mind, pour your light over every inch of this universe and be unmoved by the actions and choices of others, do not allow the exterior to change the interior of who you truly are, every selfish act, every broken heart, all the thievery and cheating, every time you want to lash out and retaliate in anger -greet this life with nothing less than unconditional love - be the fire, be the flame, leaders breed leaders, inspire change through positively modeling your thoughts, speech and behavior. ~Will "Story" Rivera Leadership and greatness aren't qualities that people are necessarily born with; often times they're earned after a lifetime of hard work and diligence. When faced with overwhelming odds or critical failures, it's easy to lose sight of your aspirations, but great leaders don't give in to that temptation. They work tirelessly to overcome any challenge and hardship. The greatest leaders don't just move past an issue, they find meaning in it, and use it to their advantage. When you face a challenge, you can't just look at how it's limiting you; you have to look at how it changes you, how it empowers you and how it could change you for the better. Great leaders learn to use the hardships as fuel for the journey ahead. As you rise in life you will eventually face failure after failure and often times experience disappointment in people and situations- but it will be your choice to overcome those hardships and improve yourself in the process or quit and allow the experience to defeat you and your spirit. Every obstacle, and every failure, is just another step toward your ultimate destination: success. In an endless sky of opportunity choose to fly - choose to be extraordinary. ~Will "Story" Rivera Great leaders recognize their wrongs. They reevaluate their choices, thoughts and actions daily - not to ridicule or judge but to help determine where improvement is needed, they are guided by the light within them and not their personal agendas, great leaders admit honestly and openly when they have strayed the path or made choices that did not serve the highest good, they accept responsibility willingly, collectively and without blame or excuses - but most importantly, great leaders are able to see the greatness in all other beings. These types of individuals are not just born overnight- it's getting up after every failure time and time again, it's facing discouragement, ridicule and disapproval and still doing what the heart calls for, it's sometimes walking alone and facing your fears even if your shaking, it's being completely honest and true, always willing to admit when they need help, it's being humble and respectful, great leaders just don't happen - they are molded through every moment and every opportunity throughout their whole lives. ~Will "Story" Rivera Greatness means allowing the fire inside us to be greater than the one around us - for our surroundings will always change but the light within us must be a constant. #Faith ~Will "Story" Rivera Love is not dependent on circumstance, love does not ask for reason or excuses or explanations. Love does not measure or compare, love is blind to the physical attributions anyone person or thing possesses. Pure unconditional love says I love you because it pleases me, because I chose to share this - I may not like what your choices are but regardless I will always love you. See the love we choose to share has everything to do with us and nothing to do with them. Love without expectations. ~Will "Story" Rivera I was driving to and from different meetings for work yesterday, I was really stressed out because I was late because there was so much traffic, my mind was worried and fixed on how much trouble I was going to get into and if I was going to pass a site visit I had to take at work, so much going on and no peace in my heart. I noticed in the morning that there were about 60 cars all lined up heading to a funeral with their hazards on, then around lunch time when I was rushing to my next meeting the same occurred - a line of cars all heading to a funeral, during early evening when I finally was headed towards my final site for work, again I saw this line up of cars heading toward a funeral and at that moment I thought to myself I don't even want to begin to imagine what those individuals are facing right now in their loss of someone whom they loved. What does it matter if I get in trouble for work, or if I am late, or if someone out there is not satisfied with my best effort, what does it matter what happens and it's truly none of my business to try to figure out what is to come for the future. In that moment I realized how grateful I was for being alive, for being mostly healthy, having amazing friendships, loved ones, an amazing following in my writing, family, warmth, a place to call home, my furry pets, employment, my tummy was full, amazing coworkers who I am honored to call family and when it comes down to it - I am so blessed it's ridiculous. Sometimes we take can get caught up in all hustle and bustle of life and forget to stop and recognize just how truly blessed we really are. ~Will "Story" Rivera |
