Ive learned that you can never judge a book by its cover. You dont know a story until you have heard from all the story characters and even then it is not the whole truth. The people who look the scariest and do mot live by the rules of society turn out to be the greatest, kindest and most honest people - while the ones who look safe and smile friendly can sometimes be the craziest.
The point is you never know until you explore. You never know until you step out on the ledge and see what is really out there. You just never know. Learn to see through the eyes of the soul. ~Will "Story" Rivera Many of us believe that the only way to feel good about ourselves is to have others give us constant recognition. We love being reassured and having someone always build us up when we feel unaccomplished.
Unfortunately the truth is, however, that the faith and act of simply believing in ourselves wholeheartedly can be enough to give us the necessary confidence to accomplish what often times seems impossible. Our own self belief leads us to achieve greatness. This allows us to create the tools and emotional strength to pock ourselves up when we fall. We have relied on others far too long. Honestly, if we need love and support, the first place we should look for this is within ourselves. We have been cultured to believe a lot of negative reinforcement. If we can find it in our hearts to look past that, to heal from the inside out then we can successfully say "I love and appreciate all I do", no one or situation can take that away from us. We must learn to be our own best friend, our own cheerleaders. We need to provide ourselves with the love, kindness, and respect we consistently give to others. ~Will "Story" Rivera Take some time to be mindful about what you choose to worry about? It probably has no relevance to the here and now. We lose so many moments of our lives worrying and stressing over what will or will not come. Some even worry themselves into sickness. Worry is a very powerful energy but you know what else is? Prayer / meditation / mindfulness. All very powerful practices that utilize the same energy as worry only it serves to bring your mind back to the hear and now. These practices help you to stay focused on what matters now and release what cannot be controlled.
It is perfectly ok to worry. It is very natural process but it becomes disruptive when we allow worry to take over us all day every day. One of the greatest lessons I learned about worry was that "worry was praying for what I don't want". When I realized how much time and energy I was giving in to things that were out of my control I recognized the importance of letting the worry go. I gave into the situations I knew I could not change and accepted that whatever was to come I would meet with a humble heart. There is nothing in this world I cannot handle and I am the master of my thoughts and my feelings. So with this new mindset I could choose to focus on the things that are in front of me or the experiences that have yet to even manifest. It is always my choice. ~Will "Story" Rivera I know that you want to be strong for the people you love. I know that you want to take care of yourself on your own. But I also need you to know that it’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to struggle. It’s okay to ask for help. Reaching out isn’t a sign of weakness. It doesn’t make you inadequate or incapable - it makes you human. We all need help sometimes. We all struggle and have a difficult time coping.
You are no exception to that. Being strong doesn’t mean holding in your emotions and pretending to be okay when you’re hurting. And it certainly doesn’t mean denying yourself help when you’re struggling. It means allowing yourself to be vulnerable. It means giving yourself permission to feel your feelings, even when they are painful. It means being authentic, even when it’s scary and you’re afraid of being judged. It means allowing your needs to get met by asking for help, even though you’re scared of burdening people and appearing weak. And it means taking care of yourself, even when you feel you don’t deserve to be taken care of. So stop closing yourself off and start letting people in. Our darkness thrives in isolation and is perpetuated when we put up a front. In order to make your way to the light, you have to reach out. You have to be open and honest, with yourself and with others. You have to redefine what it means to be strong. And you have to give yourself permission to not be okay. Because truthfully, it takes so much more strength to admit that you need help and to give yourself permission to seek it, than it does to continue to struggle on your own. I know it’s scary and difficult, but I also know that it’s possible. You are competent and capable and strong. Give yourself permission to do what’s necessary to heal. It’s time. ~ Dare to be different I never understood labels, these categories set apart to create an unnecessary separation of the mind, body and spirit. My sky shows no direction, nor does the forest or the sea, every wall and barrier created was built by man not naturally, I was created as all things - I am neither Christian, Buddhist nor Shaman but I do practice loving, I am a child of God. I honor all faiths because I love and accept myself as is, therefor I am at peace with all people, as they are - no changes necessary. I am not gay or straight but I love with a fierce passion, I consider all love a sacred connection that all beings are deserving of, I live by my own code of conduct that honors life itself - not just my own agenda.
I have this freedom about me because I care not of the opinions of others, life is too short for me to be anything except what God intended for my purpose. I would never intentionally set out to hurt anyone regardless of how bad they may have caused me harm, I have forgiven when it was not deserved and learned to let go when all I wanted to do was hold on. I see gratitude in places others view despair. I am both blessed and favored, I look to the little things that mean everything to me, I have learned that you cannot take anything from me that really matters because I keep my most valuable gems within my own soul. Life happens for me and I give back often, I show compassion, selflessness, loyalty, respect, I carry a light within me so bright you can see it with your eyes closed, again... I tell you, I never understood labels, I am all things and nothing and everything in this universe is a direct reflection of me. ~Will "Story" Rivera You are a masterpiece just waiting to be discovered. You are a unclaimed prize awaiting self discovery, unwrap yourself with excitement and be proud of your soul. ~Will "Story" Rivera
