But, we forget the most important reason why we’re breathing and for whom? We all have a purpose in life far greater than any pain. Don’t let your struggle, keep you from your blessings and no matter what you are facing in life - stop and just breathe. ~Will "Story" Rivera
Id rather go through hell together with you than face any kind of heaven with anyone else. I don't really know how I can explain it, but somehow you are missing from me, if such a thing could even exist - and before I knew you I'm not really sure I knew how to share that kind of unconditional acceptance - but we did. I would rather us be beside each other in a storm, than safe and warm alone. In the midst of it all you became my shining star and like all stars do, you have never left my sky and I, would you choose you again and again. I would go through any hardship life has to bring hand and hand, fingers intertwined, scared and terrified but trusting and faithful knowing it is you there with me rather than to ever have it easy and live another moment of my life without you in it. ~Will "Story" Rivera

Rule #30 11/14/15 Expectations lead to disappointments but not all disappointments have to be heart breaking. True peace resides when we learn to let go of all expectations. A life living truly in the moment is the goal for our inner journey. But do not be disheartened if this has yet to be something you have been able to master. Like most people, expectations are a habit we are taught and developed to incorporate in almost all aspects of our lives. So when disappointment due to expectation strikes, just know that it can and will build character and patience, when allowed to do so. These types of lessons can teach you to win and lose with grace of God and not with the grief of a child. Romans 5:3-4 says it like this: "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character ".
So if you can find it in your heart to let go of the expectations you place on others and circumstances you will find that the majority of the suffering you experience, if not all of it, is gone. You will come to find that your relationships on every level will last longer, you will have less arguments and less anger. But if you do find that you did slip and expect a little too much a little too often; remember to accept those disappointments with courage, faith and love. ~Will "Story" Rivera Everyday for the next year I will be posting a new Inspirational Rule to consider living by. Our job is to face them with encouragement and take responsibility for our part - no matter how terrified it makes us feel. When blaming others or blaming anything outside of ourselves, we inadvertently hand our power to change the situation to the person or thing we are blaming. When we choose to take responsibility over where our life is at, we immediately take hold of the power to change it.
Take your story and choose to see it through the eyes of triumph and acceptance. Everything that has transpired has been a result of the choices you made or are still making and honestly if you want things to be different then you have to be willing to make different choices. It is all about the story you choose to tell about yourself and your life. Our thoughts are everything and the perception we choose has a deep impact on our current situation. When you have come to make peace with yourself you may then add value to other people’s lives and value will be added to your own. Being of service and taking the wounds of your life and turning them into lessons and sharing your experience with others will do more good to you and the planet than almost anything else. You may not have been able to control what happened in the past, but you have 100% control over what you CHOOSE to believe now, and as a result, what you are going to make of it moving forward. ~Will "Story" Rivera Everyday for the next year I will be posting a new Inspirational Rule to consider living by. I hope you enjoy. Rule #28 11/12/15 Your Body is Your Temple. I know your days are busy and most of us work above and beyond the 40 hour work week. When there is no work there are children, pets, home responsibilities, family and the list goes on and on. Too often we forget about ourselves in this process and we make excuses why we do not have time to take care of ourselves. While it is ever important to serve others needs and be there for them, it does us no good forgetting about ourselves in the process.
God has gifted us a beautiful vessel to be the captains of; our bodies. Having a clear mind and heart comes from being in good health. What we eat, how we exercise, the mental breaks we take for ourselves - all make up the temple that we have to live in for the entire duration of our lives. Your body is your temple, it is your permanent home and how you treat it is a direct reflection of how much love and respect you have for yourself. Treat it with kindness and love, nurture yourself often not only with what you choose to consume, but who you choose to allow access, as well as how you choose to speak about yourself. Think of it this way; your body is your permanent living residence, if you own a home or ever dreamed of owning a home, you know the responsibilities that comes with being a home owner. It requires maintenance, cleaning, furnishings - when you have a house you always look to make it look its best, so why would you put in any less effort toward your body than you would a real home. ~Will "Story" Rivera Everyday for the next year I will be posting a new Inspirational Rule to consider living by. Often times we allow our struggles and responsibilities to rob us of the joy we deserve. When we take life too seriously we open the doors for disease to enter, sadness and overwhelming feelings of defeat. My friends who know me well, know I am the master of making them laugh in their worst times of crisis, I have a gift of always being able to lighten up the situation and bring some momentary comfort. There is nothing wrong with joking through our most difficult experiences and it certainly doesn't mean we are not proactively working to resolve the situation. Whether we are smiling or crying the situation remains the same so why not work through it with a sense of humor, especially when your health depends on it. Science has proven over and over again the positive effects that a good laugh daily has on your body and mind. So go on and laugh! Whether your preference is giggle, chuckle or guffaw, here are a dozen well-being benefits of laughter:
Plus it just flat out makes you feel good! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by being happy all the moments of your life - furthermore...you deserve it. ~Will "Story" Rivera
